My name is Crystal Coon, and a passion for history is what led me to become a Collections Consultant!

With a master’s degree in Public History from West Virginia University and an opportunity to work for seven distinct historical sites, I have spent several years helping to make unique histories more accessible. The Buffalo Creek Disaster 50th Anniversary exhibit and program and the 50 Years Beyond Project are just two of the moments in my work that have opened collections, made history palpable, and connected with specific, local communities.

A love of history has been a prominent part of my life ever since I was young, shaping the desires that led to working with multiple archives and curatorial collections – setting up organization, digitization, and preservation services.

My fiancè and I visit a variety of historic sites whenever we can; we even got our engagement photos taken at a historic park!

I spend my free time exploring the places that have shaped neighborhoods, states, and nations. I don’t just work with history, I live it.
